Captain Chris took his inspiration from the fighting forms cobbled together from the more ancient styles used by the Allies during World War 2. Their goal was very much the same as Chris Pizzo’s: Take them down hard and fast, no matter what your disadvantage. The forms they developed were deadly effective, even enabling a wounded soldier to take down an attacking soldier.
Chris Pizzo took this concept and ran with it. He took this jewel of a fighting style and polished it until it became Close Combat Training. The central idea behind this style is to take inherent body movements and gross motor skills (things that are already ingrained) and use them for fighting.
Everyone has weak spots and Close Combat is designed to exploit them. That is, you strike weak spots that everyone is vulnerable to, by using attacks that you don’t have to be trained for. No drunken monkeys. No finger bending “Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique.”
In real world fighting, clean and fair fights don’t exist. You don’t get trophies or medals for winning. Breaking boards with your feet and hands doesn’t mean jack against a gun, a lead pipe, or multiple attackers. In the end, getting out in one piece

Fear no man,
Captain Chris Pizzo
