Forum marketing is a great way to increase online sales and is about posting a link to your selling website in the many related forums. First of all let's say that you don't open your account in a forum and write a post like hey, friend visit this website as you can buy a great product at a discounted price and you can make money too by selling it in your website, a such post gets simply your post removed and if you persist in a such practice then your account will be deleted. So which is the right way to promote your product through the forums ?
Forums are designed by sharing informations between people not for sell or buy things so you must get in a forum not to sell anything but to give valuable informations. Forum marketing can bring you a good traffic that stays just a little time and then fade away, so if you are a webmaster you should retain the visitors that come from it through autoresponders while if you are simply an affiliate marketer then you should post continuously new threads day by day to have a continuous traffic.
