Vastu shastra refers to the Indian art of placement. Vastu is a Sanskrit word and it means house of dwelling, and is in harmony with nature. Vastu shastra is an ancient principal of home management
The study room of a house should be located in a direction which is considered the most auspicious for studies such as East, North or north-east of the house. As per Vastu Shastra, these directions can help in improving concentration while studying. Make sure that there is no mirror reflection in the study room. They might feel more burdened because of this.
Though based on similar philosophies, Feng Shui and Vastu Shastra adopt different means of operation. The former uses water, air, metal, fire and wood elements, while the latter includes water, air, earth, space, and fire. The differences could be attributed to the difference in their places of origin. In a Feng shui living room a north facing entrance is considered inappropriate, while Vastu shastra considers an east or north facing entrance as auspicious.
Indian Vastu shastra is an age-old traditional practice that is followed to bring health, wealth and prosperity in the life of mankind. It is a science of directions. Vastu study acquires a complete command over the knowledge of directions. There are eight directions - north, northeast, east, east south, south, and southwest, west, and west north, significance of which is discussed as follows.
North - East :This direction is considered very sacred in Vastu Shastra. This direction gains importance as it is defined as the adobe of the Lord almighty. This is the only suitable place for worship. The room in the North - East direction of the house should be reserved for worship. The purity of this room should be properly maintained. If it is not possible to have a separate room for worship, then atleast place the idol in the direction.
