There are two main systems of Vedic astrology practiced today: Parashari and Jaimini which were developed by the sages Parashara and Jaimini respectively. Bhrigu Samhita

The Bhrigu Samhita is an astrological (Jyotish) classic attributed to Maharishi Bhrigu during the Vedic period, although the available evidence suggests that it was compiled over a period of time by the various sishyas (students in the lineage) of Maharishi Bhrigu.

Maharishi Bhrigu was the first compiler of predictive astrology. He compiled about 500,000 horoscopes and recorded the life details and events of various persons. These Horoscopes were based upon the planetary positions of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu (North Node of the Moon) and Ketu (South Node of the Moon). After that, Maharishi Bhrigu gave his predictions on different types of horoscopes compiled by him with the help of Lord Ganesha in a brief and concise manner. position of the main entrance door of a house in a specific direction has a great influence on the wellbeing and prosperity of its occupants. Vastupadavinyas (i.e. apportionment of internal areas of the house) principles stipulate in detail the effect of various section of the house on the occupants under certain conditions. In Vastupadavinyas, notionally house is divided in different parts and each part is considered as a house of particular deity which controls that particular part and accordingly results are seen. In every house existence of Vastupurush is presumed. The welfare of the occupant also depends upon the nature of work done in particular section, depending upon the characteristics of the deity, of the house and its consequences. Generally a house is divided in 81 or 64 sections.

Main Door :

There is a certain methods to ascertain the exact position of the door. First measure the length of a house along the direction in which the door is to be placed. Divide the length into 9 equal parts. Leave out 5 parts to the right and 3 parts to the left, and place the door along the remaining length. This procedure holds good for any direction.

If the floor area is divided into 81 parts, the right and left flanks are also determined in a specific manner. When a person exits from the main door, to his right, it’s right flank and to his left is left flank.

In general following door placements are recommended :

Leave out two sections and place the door in the third section, if the door faces East.

Leave out 5 sections and place the door in the 6th section, if it faces South.

Leave out 3 sections and place the door in the 4th section, if it faces either West or North.

Irrespective of the directions, a door in the 4th section generates good results.

Unfavourable situations for placing the main door are listed below :

A tree, well, pillar or machinery with wheels lying in front of the main door. But if there is a road in between, it will not effect adversely.

Approach road forming a T junction with the plot, with two exception. – A> Road nearing North-East direction, abutting the property either from North or East is auspicious. and B> Road nearing the South-East direction, abutting the property from South does not adversely affect the house.

The door should not be placed in the North-West or SOuth-West direction under any circumstances.

Points to be remembered :

Always use new door for a new house.

The quality and decoration of the main door should be superior to those of the rest of the doors.

The rest of the doors in the house should not be larger and / or greater in height than the main door.

Size of the main entrance should not be disproportionate with respect to the size of the house,else sickness and diseases disturb the house.

If the main door is smaller in size compared to the size of the house, it results in loss of wealth.

Cracked entrance door can generate adversity and unhappiness in the family.

Symbols like Swastik, Aum, Urn (Kalash), Coconut-leaf, prove auspicious and prevent the entry of the evil tendencies. Rangoli decorations in front of the main door completely stops the entry of evil tendencies in the house.

The number of doors and windows counted separately should always be even except 10 and 20.

INTERNAL STAIRCASE :

In Vastu Shastra, it is stipulated that the internal staircase be sited to the West or North, but one should climb up towards South Direction only. Such staircase be provided with two doors, one at each level. However, the door at the higher level should have an area equivalent to 11/12th the area of the lower level door.

Under any circumstances a staircase should never be placed in North-East direction.

The southwest area of your garden is associated with the earth element and creates a sustaining and grounding force. In the northeast, water element is at home. This element will allow your plants to flourish. The fire element in the southeast supports disease-free plants. The northwest is related to the air element encouraging cross-pollination.

1. Invest in the southwest area of your garden. This should be done in order to stabilize the force of the earth element. You can do this with a rock garden, tall trees and even a stone statue. 2. The water element can be used in the garden by using low plantings in the northeast that will allow the flow of positive solar energy. Add a fountain or reflection pool or pond in this area to reflect this beneficial energy throughout the garden.

3. The southeast side of your garden should be devoted to the fire element, here you can place a fire pit, the fire pit is a great way to serve the fire element, and it will also be a delight to look at, once placed in the right location and setup properly, you and your family will enjoy a fire pit. Red symbolizes this direction so plant tulips, geraniums and dahlias here.

4. Use wind chimes to balance the air element in the northwest. Since blue is the color of this area, plant bluebells, forget-me-nots and iris to enhance the influences coming from this direction.
